Why I'm fundraising for Hannah's House
I'm choosing to fundraise for Hannah's House because I care about Perth children with life-limiting and complex medical conditions.
Many of us experience the joy of children in our lives, but for families with children diagnosed with life-limiting conditions or complex care needs, the ongoing challenges can often overwhelm those feelings as they simply try and cope with the complexities they face.
Looking after a child with complex needs at home will require a family to give 24/7 care; attending the child throughout the night, managing frequent seizures, tube feeding and managing medical needs normally administered by nursing staff. The child may not be able to speak, see or hear clearly, breathe independently, move independently or do many other things that most of us take for granted.
Our services include in-home respite, palliative and end-of-life care, assistance with daily living, help to transition a child home from hospital and home-based planned or emergency respite. Our support is flexible and always tailored to meet the needs and goals of each family. We focus on quality of life for the child and support for the whole family.
