Hannah's Legacy

Hannah Watson’s story is one of love, resilience, and courage. Born with a rare congenital condition, Hannah defied medical expectations, living a life that inspired all who knew her. Despite the constant care and vigilance required to manage her condition, Hannah’s family provided her with a home full of love, strength, and hope. Tragically, Hannah passed away in 2010 at the age of 19, leaving behind a legacy that continues to touch lives today.

Hannah’s parents, Jacky and Martin, founded Hannah’s House to ensure that families like theirs would never have to face their journey alone. The organisation now provides vital support, care, and services to children from birth to 18 years who have been diagnosed with life-limiting or complex conditions, as well as their families.

What is Shine for Hanah?

Each March, the Shine for Hannah campaign transforms Perth into a sea of yellow. Participants are encouraged to host yellow-themed events, fundraisers, and activities to raise awareness and support for Hannah’s House. From wearing yellow to organising community events, every action helps make a difference.

Families caring for children with complex medical needs face immense challenges—physically, emotionally, and financially. The funds raised through Shine for Hannah enable Hannah’s House to provide essential services, such as in-home nursing care, respite, emotional support, and guidance to families navigating these difficulties.
