Yasir's Story

Meet Yasir, an extraordinary 4-year-old, with Down Syndrome and Cerebral Palsy.

Hannah’s House provides palliative and in-home support services to children and young people like Yasir and their families. Our mission is to provide care, comfort and joy for children with complex medical needs. Our programs are flexible and always tailored to meet the needs and goals of each family.

Everleigh's Story

Everleigh’s life began with unique challenges. Within 24 hours of her birth, seizures became an unwelcome companion for Everleigh, occurring daily. After an agonising nine-month wait, Everleigh was diagnosed with WOREE Syndrome, impacting every facet of her life and daily interactions.

WOREE Syndrome is characterised by severe global developmental delays, impaired vision and hearing, unsafe swallowing, and extremely low muscle tone.

Caring for Everleigh is a round-the-clock commitment. With 30 plus seizures a day, including breath-holding seizures requiring oxygen and rescue meds, and the constant risk of choking, Everleigh cannot be left alone.

The impact of Everleigh’s diagnosis on her family is profound, altering work dynamics, financial stability, relationships, and travel plans. Leaving the house for even the simplest tasks becomes a challenge, highlighting the importance of a robust support network that understands Everleigh's unique needs.

Everleigh's Mum says that “With the support of Hannah’s House, I can run errands without putting Everleigh at risk or making her uncomfortable. It also gives me a much-needed break to enjoy a cup of coffee or catch up with a friend to help with the mental stress of daily life.”
